Ramina Books to Publish Kurdish Translation of Pope Francis’s Hope

Ramina Books is pleased to announce that it has secured the exclusive rights to translate the autobiography of His Holiness Pope Francis, titled Hope, into Kurdish. The Kurdish edition is scheduled for publication in 2025. This step comes as part of Ramina’s broader mission to bring noble humanistic messages to the peoples of the region, especially those centred on love, peace, and intercultural understanding.

It is worth noting that Pope Francis, the Supreme Pontiff of the Catholic Church, passed away on 21 April 2025, at the age of 88, after a life dedicated to spiritual service, interfaith dialogue, and the defence of the poor and marginalised.

In 2021, Pope Francis made a historic visit to the city of Erbil in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, where he led a large public mass and delivered messages of love and solidarity to the people of the region. During that visit, he also met with President Masoud Barzani, emphasising the importance of peaceful coexistence and respect for cultural and religious diversity.

Haitham Hussein, General Director of Ramina Books in London, stated: “We believe that the voice of Pope Francis deserves to be heard in many languages, including Kurdish, for it carries a sincere call to humanity and peace. Translating Hope is a symbolic contribution to building bridges between cultures and supporting Kurdish readers in their mother tongue with messages that inspire and enlighten in these difficult times.”

He also confirmed that the Kurdish translation will be distributed free of charge to Kurdish readers worldwide.
